Welcome to Candles By Victoria monthly newsletter. If your are just joining us this month WELCOME. If you have been a loyal subscriber thank you for your continued support.
What a great time of year this is, the crisp air in the mornings and perfect temperatures through out the day! It's time for picking apples, sipping cider, making scarecrows and taking hayrides...there's so much to enjoy! The seasons are changing, and as the sunlight takes on a coppery glow, fields are being harvested and bunches of just-picked herbs hang overhead to dry. Crisp days and beautiful red-tinged maple trees signal that October has arrived. I can't help but feel a bit renewed and revived! Texas doesn't get much better than in the fall. I hope that where ever you are, you're also experiencing this uplifting feeling.
On a personal note, this is our oldest daughter Melissa's birthday month. She will turn 23 on the 4th, wow where did the time go? I just wanted to say that I love you Melissa and I'm so proud of the woman you have become. Happy Birthday honey!
And finally we have something fun for the kids, since Halloween is one of our favorite holidays of the year we would like to share a little something with all of you. The winner of Candles By Victoria "Name that scent" contest is Carrie Burr. The name Carrie came up with for our blend of cinnamon bark and leaves with fir needles and pine enhanced by clove buds is VICTORIAN CHRISTMAS, everyone here at Candles By Victoria absolutely loved this name.

"I came up with Victorian Christmas for the name of your new fragrance. I imagine a Victorian style house decorated for Christmas and looking all majestic with the smell of cinnamon, fir needles, pine and clove wafting out as you enter. Warm and inviting just like Victoria, it welcomes you in."

Candles By Victoria Candle Raffle
This months candle raffle candle is for this adorable Peanut Butter Chocolate Banana Slice Dream candle. We started off with this super cute Pedestal Ice Cream Bowl, added our first layer of Peanut Butter scented wax, then added another layer of our yummy chocolate, on top of that we added yet another layer of Peanut Butter scented wax. We then took hand whipped wax scented in our blend of Cream Cheese and Whip Cream and piled it high right in the center of this yummy candle, then circled the whole thing with 3 layers of scented wax bananas that look so real your kids will want to eat them! Then finally we topped the whole thing with real Chocolate Sprinkles and crumbed wax peanuts scented in Caramelized Pralines with the final touch... a wax cherry on top!
This is one super cute candle!! This candle will also be available to order on the website, you can find this candle located on the 7th candle page of our website.

Candles By Victoria Helpful Hints
Do you ever wonder why you become drowsy in the morning as soon as you smell your co-workers perfume? Or maybe you are having trouble sleeping after using your favorite orange scented lotion before bed. Have you ever considered how the fragrances around you are affecting your mood?
Fragrance is a powerful enhancer of mood. Upon inhalation of a fragrance, the odor molecules travel up the nose where they are captured in specific receptor cells. The odor molecules then stimulate the limbic system of the brain. The limbic system is our emotional control center and controls heart rate, hormone balance, breathing, and stress levels of the body. A particular scent or fragrance can trigger memories and emotions in our brain before we are consciously aware of them.
Because fragrance has such a powerful effect on our mood, it can be highly beneficial to choose a scent that is congruent to the goal for that time in the day. A person may want to avoid soaking in a lemon/lime bath before bed because the citrus scent may have too much of an energizing effect, and not the sedative effect a night time bath should have.
Try these guidelines the next time you are planning the fragrance choices in your day:
Morning
When choosing the scents to surround your morning, you want to choose something that will help you start your day fresh and with vibrancy. For a burst of early morning energy, try using a fragrance with a lemon or orange scent. The zesty smell will lend a zing to your early morning routine. Grapefruit and citrus blends also have energizing and uplifting qualities perfect to start the day. These scents are light and natural, and tend not to overpower the senses.
Afternoon
The afternoon can be a time when you are in the middle of working, and you want to feel fresh, but also want to relieve some of the built up stress of the morning. For a relaxing and happy afternoon, try using lavender. If you feel tired and groggy during the middle of the day, try using a pine scent to help boost your energy.
Evening
For a romantic evening, utilize musky fragrances like sandalwood and amber. These scents are very powerful, and tend to overpower more delicate fragrances. To unwind into sleep, try the scent of rose. Vanilla and Sandalwood are also used to help reduce and relieve stress, and can help the brain wind down for a calm and relaxing evening.

Ok, I don't even know where to begin. I got my candle order today and before I even opened the box I could smell them. I got the new Pumpkin Jar candle with Pumpkin Pie and Creme Brulee in it. Boy is it adorable, can't wait till Halloween although I don't know if I can wait that long to burn it. I also got the new Cream Cheese Frosting scent and I was ready to get a spoon. I love cream cheese frosting! Then I got a Christmas Scent Shot Sampler Pack and Victoria picked out the most amazing scents. I also got the Cuddle Me Up Carrot Cake from the Comfort Candle line and the Chocolate Fudge Cinnamon Sugar Cookie Surprise and I don't think I will burn those candles for a long time, they are way too BEAUTIFUL to burn. This is an exclusive line we have been working on here at Candles By Victoria for a few months. The name "Comfort Candles" was inspired by Kim, a long time customer of Candles By Victoria. We had made Kim a one of a kind Strawberry Maple Butter candle, she loved it so much she suggested we start a line called Comfort Candles and so the idea was born. When I think of comfort foods, I think of yummy desserts, that is what inspired this line of delectable candle creations. Each candle is truly a work of art, it takes a very long time to pour candles such as these, each Comfort Candle is poured individually so they REALLY are not only candles but works of art.
Candles By Victoria Comfort candles come in one size, our wonderful 18 oz. Country Footed Jar with lid. We love this container so much because of the wide mouth, it allows for a larger melt pool, which in turn produces an outstanding scent throw! I would like to nominate Carole (the frog lady) from South Carolina for MOTM for October.
Carole has had a rough road this last year. Dealing with a lot of personal problems---working two jobs every day taking care of senior citizens--Bless her heart---and then putting her self thru school to be a Nursing Assistant---I hope I got your title right Carole.
Carole did not have too much confidence in herself after being away from school for so long (many of us would know this feeling well) she was very worried about passing her many exams and her boards.
She passed everything the first time---and all this while raising a teen age son. We all have been there !!! LOL
Carole has been a member of this board since its inception and a frequent participant in all topics.
I think she is deserving of the MOTM award.
